Integrated Counselling approach
“More than counselling — a whole-self approach.”
Life can move fast, and it’s easy to feel disconnected, stuck, or worn down. Sometimes we push through — but other times, it’s clear we need a different kind of support. That’s where holistic therapy comes in.
I combine evidence-based counselling with a more creative, spiritual approach, giving you space to explore both mind and spirit. Together, we’ll look at what’s weighing you down, uncover practical ways to cope, and reconnect you with a stronger sense of balance, meaning, and direction.
Holistic therapy isn’t about a one-size-fits-all fix — it’s about finding the approach that feels right for you and your journey forward.
therapeutic Integrated Approach
“A modern approach that meets you where you are.”
My approach is simple: real conversations, practical tools, and strategies that create change. I combine the best of Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-informed practices. This mix means you get a personalised experience that’s flexible, effective, and tailored to you.
At the core is a person-centred foundation — a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. From there, I bring in solution-focused and evidence-based techniques that help you cut through the noise, build on your strengths, and put clear steps in place to move forward with confidence.
This integrative approach gives you the best of both worlds: the space to explore what’s going on, and the tools to do something about it. Clients often notice:
Greater self-awareness and understanding
Practical coping skills and strategies
Increased motivation and hope
Stronger problem-solving abilities
More confidence and direction
Faster progress toward meaningful change
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, every session is about what matters most to you, right now — and how we can make it better.
A spiritual counselling approach
“Counselling with a spiritual edge.”
Spiritual counselling is about more than “talking through problems” — it’s about reconnecting with meaning, purpose, and the deeper parts of yourself. My approach blends emotional, mental, physical and spiritual support, giving you practical tools as well as space for reflection and growth.
Together, we’ll explore your journey, uncover clarity, and build the strength to move forward with balance and direction. This is about supporting your whole self — not just where you are now, but where you want to be.
Benefits of spiritual counselling can include:
Greater clarity and direction in life
Healing on emotional, mental, and spiritual levels
Stronger resilience through life’s challenges
Presence, balance, and calm in everyday moments
Deeper self-awareness and spiritual connection
Improved relationships and communication
Renewed confidence and belief in yourself
A stronger sense of purpose and fulfilment
Spiritual counselling gives you space to pause, reconnect, and create harmony within yourself — so you can step into life with more clarity, confidence, and ease.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is the Difference Between Counselling and Psychology?
Counselling offers a supportive space to talk with a professionally trained counsellor about a wide range of life challenges—such as grief and loss, workplace stress, relationship difficulties, or more complex concerns like trauma or substance use. The focus in counselling is on creating a non-judgmental and empathetic environment where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions.
Unlike psychology, which often involves diagnosing and treating mental health disorders through a more clinical and structured approach, counselling does not offer diagnoses or prescribe treatment plans. Instead, it centres on collaborative exploration—supporting clients to better understand themselves, develop new perspectives, and create meaningful change in their lives. The aim is to enhance emotional wellbeing, build autonomy, and foster healthier relationships and a clearer outlook on life.
How Often Will I Need to Attend Counselling Sessions?
At A Question of Life Counselling, you have the flexibility to attend sessions as often—or as little—as you feel is right for you. There is no set number of sessions required; your journey is entirely your own, and you are free to choose what suits your needs and circumstances.
While there is no obligation to commit to a specific number of sessions, many clients find that attending at least six sessions helps them begin to experience meaningful change and emotional regulation. However, this can vary depending on several factors—such as the nature and intensity of your concerns, your personal readiness for change, how you apply what we explore together outside of sessions, and any external stresses that may be influencing your wellbeing.
Ultimately, the pace and depth of the counselling process are guided by you, and I am here to support you each step of the way.
Is Counselling Confidential?
Yes, counselling is a confidential process. What you share during our sessions remains private and is not discussed with anyone else. You are free to talk openly about whatever is on your mind, knowing that your privacy is respected.
However, there are a few legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality. I am required to break confidentiality if:
You are at serious risk of harm to yourself or others
You express intent to end your life and have the means to do so
Your records are subpoenaed by a court of law
You provide written consent for information to be shared—for example, in the case of a referral to another professional or support
Do I Need a GP Referral?
No referral is needed to see me. As I work in private practice, you can book counselling sessions directly without going through a GP or any other provider. Simply reach out via my website, Facebook page, or email, and I’ll arrange a time that works best for you.
Are Medicare or Health Rebates Available?
No, rebates through Medicare or private health funds are not available. As a private practice, no referral is needed, and there are no large upfront costs. My fees are kept affordable to make counselling accessible without involving GP records or paying high clinical rates.
What Can I Expect?
You can expect a safe, respectful, and compassionate space where you are free to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Each session is tailored to your needs using a mix of therapeutic and, where appropriate, spiritual approaches.
There's no pressure to complete “homework.” While I may gently suggest things to reflect on or try between sessions, you're not required to do anything outside of bringing yourself, an open mind, and a willingness to grow.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself as I am, then I can change."
Carl Rogers, American psychologist
